yt-chronological does not collect, sell or share any of your data. It has no servers, no analytics and no tracking. Everything it does happens in your browser or in your own YouTube account, and only when you ask.
What the extension does
yt-chronological runs only on www.youtube.com. When you open it on a channel, it reads that channel's list of uploads and saves them, oldest first, into playlists in your YouTube account. It can also add new uploads later, join several channels into one set of playlists, and take you back to the last video you watched.
Information it uses
- Your YouTube session. To create and update playlists in your account, the extension makes the same requests to youtube.com that the site itself makes when you save a video, using the session you are already signed in with. Your password is never seen or stored, and your session is never sent anywhere other than youtube.com.
- Public channel and video information. Channel names, avatars, upload lists, video counts and publish dates are read from youtube.com to build your playlists in order.
- Your saved sets and your place. Which channels you saved, the playlists that were created, your choices (such as including Shorts), and the last video you watched in each set are kept so the extension can update your playlists and let you continue where you left off.
Where it is stored
That last group is stored in your browser's local storage for youtube.com, on your device only. It is not synced to other devices or sent to the developer or anyone else. The playlists themselves live in your YouTube account, under your control, like any playlist you make yourself.
Who it is shared with
No one. The extension only ever talks to YouTube: youtube.com, to read public information and to manage playlists in your own account, and YouTube's image servers, to show channel avatars. It uses no third-party services, analytics, advertising or crash reporting. Your use of YouTube remains covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
- Clear the site data for youtube.com in your browser's settings to delete everything the extension stored. It lives in youtube.com's storage, so removing the extension alone stops it running but leaves that data in place.
- Delete the playlists it created from your YouTube library like any other playlist.
Changes
If the way the extension handles data ever changes, this page will be updated before the new version is released, and the date at the top will change.
